Steve Eckert

Vice President, Commercial Development

Steve Eckert is Vice President of Commercial Development for Brookfield Renewable’s U.S. business, responsible for structuring and providing commercial support for complex and longer-term transactions across the regions.

Mr. Eckert joined Brookfield Renewable in 2010, drawing from nearly 30 years of experience in the electric utility sector, including as a lead developer for an offshore wind project and a 1,000-megawatt hydroelectric facility in British Columbia. He also served as the CEO of a mid-sized power marketing firm and spent 16 years in various roles at Duke Energy, becoming Senior Vice President of Duke Energy’s Latin America operations.

Mr. Eckert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Queens College. He is a registered professional engineer.
