Jacob Pollack

Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Jacob Pollack is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Brookfield Renewable’s U.S. business, overseeing the legal functions of the U.S. Platform, which includes corporate compliance, tax policy and land use.

Mr. Pollack joined Brookfield Renewable in 2018, drawing from over two decades of experience serving as counsel to developers, owners and operators of U.S. renewable and fossil power generation. From 2006 to 2018, Mr. Pollack held multiple in-house legal positions at Cogentrix Energy, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for the Charlotte, N.C.-based generation asset developer, owner and operator, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs until its acquisition by The Carlyle Group in 2012. Prior to Cogentrix, Mr. Pollack was an associate attorney in the corporate law department of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, working within the firm’s power-focused energy practice group.

Mr. Pollack holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in Civil Engineering and Operations Research from Princeton University, as well as a JD from Columbia Law School.
